Corrine Li, Ph.D.

Bio

Corrine Li, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, is the founder and director of canDID Expressions, a peer-led nonprofit for people who experience trauma-based dissociation. There, she facilitates writing and expressive arts groups, provides Story-Informed Trauma Therapy mentoring, and offers writing coaching. Always interested in personal narratives and the many ways we communicate, she became a speech-language pathologist. Shortly after beginning her career, she was diagnosed with DID, and her personal and professional paths have been shaping each other ever since. Later, while studying memoir, she discovered that storytelling can transform both those who hear it and the person telling it. While writing her own memoir, she began facilitating writing groups, and witnessed how each person found their own language for healing – through words, image, or movement – and how authentic connection deepened the process for everyone. Informed by decades of her own therapeutic work, her clinical training, and research, this insight revealed a clear purpose: sharing the journey with others as they explore and express their stories.
