Bio
Rev. Karla Fleshman, LCSW MDiv, TCYM II (They/She) is the Owner, Clinical Director of Transitions Delaware LLC located in New Castle County Delaware providing clinical counseling, consultation services, and cultural responsibility training with a special focus on creating safer, supportive environments for LGBTQ+ folx. Rev. Karla graduated from the University of Maryland School of Social Work with an MSW in 1991 with a specialization in Health Care and graduated from Columbia Theological Seminary with an MDiv in 1999. She spent the first six years of her professional life working within pediatric and then later, adult HIV Care (1990 - 1996); and, at a time before protease inhibitors, she was prompted to ask the existential question: “Where is God in the midst of suffering?” That led her to seminary. Rev. Karla founded/pastored a mostly queer church for ten years before returning to clinical work. Rev. Karla is a Certified EMDR Therapist with an Advanced Certification in Dissociation Studies for EMDR from the Institute for Creative Mindfulness, Certified in Trauma Conscious Yoga Method, Level Two (TCYM II); and they are currently an EMDR Consultant in Training. They have active LCSW licenses in DE, PA, & MD.
