Bio
Silver Buonocore is a licensed clinical mental health therapist at Solid Ground Counseling, located in DeLand and Ormond Beach, FL, close to Daytona Beach. She completed her B.A. in Business Administration from Regis University and her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. She has almost two decades of administrative and hands-on experience working with toddlers through adolescence in school settings (PKâ12th grade). When she began her studies to become a mental health therapist, her focus shifted toward working with adults and families and identifying how trauma affects the development of the brain, body, and mind. Silver incorporates both biological and psychological experiences while engaging in whole-body processing.
Silver was professionally trained alongside military chaplains at the Watters Family Life Center for Counseling and Resiliency, located in Fort Bragg, NC. She was formally trained in several different therapeutic modalities, including premarital counseling, attachment, and relationship focused therapies. She is an EMDRIA-certified therapist for EMDR therapy. She is currently finishing extensive training for Somatic Experiencing certification. The SCID-D is her trauma-informed approach for dissociative disorder assessments. She credits her hands-on experience in school settings with helping her understand how developmental delays during stages of life interfere with physical brain development, as well as psychological and social development. She worked as a mental health therapist for at a dual diagnosis treatment center for addictions and mental health disorders in its residential, PHP, and IOP programs, focused on stabilization and growth. She continues to work with those affected by addictions, recognizing how addictive behaviors stem from trauma and unprocessed traumatic experiences.
Silver is currently a trauma-focused therapist who tends to have clients with complex needs that require a unique approach to therapy. Many of her clients have experiences that have led to PTSD, anxiety disorders, and dissociative disorders. Her clients tend to work in careers that have witnessed primary and vicarious trauma, such as the military, first responders, healthcare workers, and therapists. She works with survivors who have experienced trafficking, kidnapping, war, ritualized and extreme abuse. Silver passionately and proudly supports the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Family Advocacy Outreach Network. She is humbled to be in a position to work with those who have been on all sides of a missing or exploited situation, whether it is the child, their family, or supporters who work hard to bring children home.
